The 2026 Leapmotor Lafa 5 is a sporty electric hatchback designed to blend strong performance with cutting-edge EV technology. It is powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 160 kW (218 PS), enabling a brisk 0–100 km/h acceleration time of around 6.4 seconds. Built on Leapmotor’s advanced LEAP 3.5 modular platform, the Lafa 5 uses rear-wheel drive to deliver engaging handling and balanced driving dynamics, positioning it as a performance-oriented compact EV in its segment.

In terms of battery and range, the Lafa 5 is offered with two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options, including 56.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh packs. These provide a CLTC-rated driving range of approximately 515 km and up to 605 km, respectively, making it suitable for both daily commuting and longer journeys. The car features an 800V high-voltage electrical architecture, allowing ultra-fast charging capabilities, with the battery able to charge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 15 minutes under ideal conditions. Dimensionally, it measures about 4430 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, and 1520 mm in height, giving it a planted stance and practical interior proportions.

Design-wise, the Leapmotor Lafa 5 adopts a bold and youthful hatchback silhouette, highlighted by frameless doors, 19-inch alloy wheels, an active front grille, and optional aerodynamic body kits on higher trims such as the Ultra variant. Buyers can choose from a wide range of expressive exterior colors, including Electric Yellow, Wind Gray, Starry Night Blue, Morgan Pink, Galaxy Silver, and Metallic Black. Higher trims elevate the technology offering with a Qualcomm 8650 chip delivering up to 200 TOPS of computing power, roof-mounted LiDAR, and advanced driver assistance systems such as Navigation-Assisted Cruise Control for enhanced urban and highway driving automation.
