Just returned from an unforgettable 5-day, 4-night getaway to Taipei over Singapore's National Day weekend, and Taipei truly exceeded all expectations!
We stayed at The Tango Taipei Linsen, where our SG$190 per night small suite felt like a luxurious retreat. The room was spacious, complete with a cozy living room, a 3-seater sofa, a king-sized bed, a work table, and even a washing machine/dryer. The bathroom was practically a spa, featuring a huge bathtub perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
Our first adventure took us to Ximending, where we just had to visit the Capybara Cocktail bar/cafe, 沫調啤More Beer, which we'd seen on Instagram. The cocktails were as intriguing as they were delicious, and yes, we got the adorable Capybara decorations on our drinks!
We also booked a Klook day tour to the famous Kavalan Whisky Distillery on day two, which turned out to be more than just a whisky experience. We visited Suo Bay, Tofu Bay, Neipi Beach, Nanfangao Nantian Temple, Suao Cold Spring Park, Dongao Bay, and Fenniaolin Fish Port. The view from the top of Nanfangao Nantian Temple was simply serene.
On day three, we joined another Klook tour to Yehliu Geopark, Shifen, and Jiufen Old Street. For those planning to visit Yehliu, don’t forget your umbrella, sunscreen, and sunglasses—the 35°C heat felt more like 42°C! The day’s highlights included releasing a lantern at Shifen Old Street and indulging in the local food at Jiufen Old Street. Jiufen Jie Jiao Traditional Diner is a must-visit for craft beer enthusiasts and those looking to savor authentic Taiwanese dishes.
Sunday, day four, was a more relaxed day, starting with a jewelry-making workshop at T-Point Metal Art. Ms. Shao Ru, aka Mao Mi 老师, guided us through a peaceful, hands-on ring-making session that was both fun and therapeutic.
To wrap up the day, we stumbled upon Shin Shin Showtime Cinemas near our hotel and decided to watch "Deadpool & Wolverine." As expected, it was a wild ride, full of Deadpool’s signature antics. 😅
Lastly, a shoutout to Lucy 露西早餐, an amazing breakfast spot just minutes from our hotel. Their club sandwich and fried carrot cake were the perfect start to our mornings. 😋
