How to Cold Stratify Lavender for Best Germination

The secret to getting Lavender seeds to germinate? Cold stratification!

Cold stratifying mimics the natural process of seeds sitting in cold, wet soil over winter and sprouting in the Spring.

Some Seeds with hard shells like Lavender need this to soften up and trigger germination.

To Cold Stratify Your Seeds:

Place them on one half of a wet paper towel.
Fold over and store in a plastic bag or sealed container.
Label and put in the refrigerator for 3-4 weeks.
Sow your seeds as usual indoors and look for sprouts within 1-2 weeks.
