When experiencing no peaks while running, we must first determine if the problem is mechanical or chemical. In this EZkem troubleshooting video, we will be determining if the cause of having no peaks is due to a chemical issue.

We first determine that it is not a mechanical issue by checking that serial communication values are correct, that the valve is working properly and that the detector is functioning correctly by checking that the lamp is working. Our next step is to inject a higher than normal standard into the system. We will be injecting a 10ppm standard and will expect to see a very strong peak color. If we see a physical color of a high standard then we know that the chemistry is fine. If we do not see the color then there is the possibility that we need to make new reagents.
