Cape Town Slalom Sessions 2020 | Andy Laufer

Cape Town is famous for his world-class wavespots such as Platboom/Cape Point, Scarborough, Hakgaat and many more spots and places. But actually it is one of the best spots for slalom sailing as well. Such a beautiful coastline everywhere. You can basically choose your conditions from super easy to gnarly, extreme and rough. I started in Blouberg, surfed up to Kitebeach to finish from there with a downwinder back in Blouberg. Went out for an easy jibe training afternoon to Rietvlei. The fallowing day, I sailed out in Milnerton, surfing up to Cape Town harbour to do some speed runs next to Paarden Eiland. Pretty gusty there but can be super fun. All spots are perfect training spots. the only thing to watch out for are the sunfish, which floats just below the surface of the water. You can barely see them when the sun gets low.
My equipment was always the same, JP Australia Slalom 71 2020, Neil Pryde EVO XI 7.8 and a NoLo Fin 37.
