On January 13, 2026, I found myself across the street from an anti-Trump and anti-ICE rally at the Connecticut State Capitol. Rather than engaging in political shouting, I stood at the Supreme Court building with my signs and the Word of God.

This is a short, impromptu mini-sermon grounded in a simple but often forgotten truth: as Christians, we have already won the battle—not because of us, but because of Jesus Christ.

Christ has defeated:
the world
the flesh
and the devil

Abortion is still legal, and Christians must work tirelessly to see it abolished. But we must labor with confidence, not despair—knowing that God’s purposes cannot fail and that Christ’s victory is already secure.

I use an illustration from chess:
God is the Great and Ultimate Chess Master, and He has already declared checkmate—even if it takes a trillion moves to unfold. Our role is not to “win” history, but to be faithful within it.

God does not need us.

He may even sacrifice us, just as He sacrificed His only Son.

At times, it may look like we are losing—but we are not.

Victory belongs to Christ.
