1997: Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Redskins Remastered NFL HIghlights

Revisiting the 1997 season finale, the Redskins hosted the Eagles with playoff hopes on the line. Washington won an entertaining, high-scoring match-up, but would miss the playoffs by a whisker. The Redskins, with a tie on their record, missed the post-season cut by a half-game (doesn't that sound familiar?) but nonetheless would finish with a winning record for the second straight year.

The defense was porous but made up for atrocious tackling with a pair of first quarter turnovers-turned-touchdowns, including an 83-yard interception/stroll by beloved Darrell Green. Game ball goes to Brian Mitchell, whose spectacular kick returns were the spark needed to lift the 'Skins to victory. Even Michael Westbrook caught some passes - it was quite a day.

The win would end a nasty 4-game home losing streak to the Eagles and would cement the Redskins first NFC East winning record since 1991.

Dick Stockton and the occasionally indignant Matt Millen on the call for the season finale at the brand-new Jack Kent Cooke Stadium.
