After discovering that the clutch used in his Ferrari was the same as the one used in his tractors, he offered suggestions to Enzo Ferrari but was humiliated. In response, he created his own race car company and produced the Lamborghini 350 GT and Miura, which became highly popular.

Eventually, financial struggles led Ferruccio to sell his shares in the company and retire.
