Mr George Tsermoulas talks about the IIH Intervention trial. People with IIH typically have problems with eyesight and headache, but only a small proportion are at risk of permanent sight loss and require emergency intervention to prevent this. IIH Intervention is a trial that, for the first time, will directly compare two surgical treatments (shunting and stenting) that lower brain pressure to save eyesight, in order to find which one is better.
