Today I’ve met with the head of Residency by Investment program in Malta. We were discussing current options in Malta, as well as the future plans for improving their residency schemes.

Their indefinite program is the most current one they offer, it has been launched on the March 29th this year, and this is the improved version of their old residency by investment program.
The old program attracted around 2600 families into Malta, over the period of 5 years.

The new improved residency by investment program offers better value for money for its applicants, as they will be able to obtain permanent residency from the day 1. Also this program lets you bring your extended family to Malta!
An amazing thing is that there are no minimum stay requirements for this program, and you can come and go as you wish.

Malta worked really hard to improve their processes and to make the waiting time shorter: they invested in tech, and hired more people to deal with incoming applicants. The waiting time shortened from the average of 8-12 to 4-6 months.

With the new residency schemes Malta is introducing the entire process will be doable online! Big innovation will be their Nomad Residency scheme, that will grant you the access to Malta for 1 year, and it will be renewable after that year expires.
