Renowned coachbuilder HJ Mulliner, a founding member of the Royal Automobile Club, built bodies for just 95 of the 1203 Rolls-Royce 25/30 chassis the manufacturer of the 'Best Car In The World' produced. HJ Mulliner was one of the Northampton coachbuilding dynasty - Arthur Mulliner built bodies there until the World War II, later working in Liverpool). The late 1930s represented the pinnacle of the coachbuilder's art and Mulliners achieved an unsurpassed level of craftsmanship.
This truly magnificent car is a multiple award winner within the exclusive circles of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiast's Club. Since 1959 the car has had just two owners, the last of whom restored a very sound original car to National concours-winning standard beginning in 2002 and has owned it for almost 20 years.

The attractive four light 'razor edge' style bodywork is both sporting and dignified. The huge history files contain a fabulous record of historic correspondence including many letters exchanged with Rolls Royce, Castrol and the supplying dealer from 1959 whose gorgeous winged plaque is still affixed to the highly polished wood dash. There are many photographs, postage-stamped period receipts so evocative of a bygone age and a service manual. Having spent a long period laid-up after being taken off the road in 1975, the last owner has restored the car to an exemplary show condition. Particularly notable is the refurbishment of the splendid original leather seats. Photos of the car pre-restoration reveal it to have been a very sound car, still with very sound leather seating. 2017 correspondence from the Rolls-Royce Enthusiast's Club, just prior to further expenditure by the last owner contains this description and a valuation certificate: "The car has achieved extensive awards in a very competitive class and bears testimony to the quality of Steve Perry's work and your custodianship. The provision of £60,000 is certainly realistic" In the past three years a further £6,000 has been invested in the car including £1240 for 5 new tyres, maintaining the fabulous show condition of one of the very finest examples of the Pre-War 25/30 Rolls-Royce.
