Moringa Paratha Recipe by PM Modi ji… Recently Mr Narendra Modi shared his favourite recipe using Drumsticks or say Moringa or Sehjan ki fali.

I recreated it using his ideas and recipe.

Drumstick us very nutritious and is a store house of vitamins and minerals esp Vitamin C.

Making it’s Paratha is indeed an excellent way to consume it on daily basis.

Recipe
Drumstick 1 Pc
Water 1 Cup
Wheat Flour 1+3/4 Cup
Besan 1/4 Cup
Methi Leaves 1/4 Cup
Salt as per taste
Red Chilli Powder 1/4 tsp
Carom Seeds 1/2 tsp
Sesame seeds 1 tsp
Oil or Ghee for making Paratha.

Method
1. Rinse drumsticks.
2. Cut into small pieces.
3. Peel off the upper hard skin.
4. Add water and pressure cook it for 2 whistles.
5. When cool, mash using a masher and then with hands to extract its full juice.
6. Strain the juice using a strainer.
7. To this extract, add wheat flour, besan and spices. ( I forgot to add besan this time but it tastes awesome)
8. Knead the dough without adding water.
9. Make Parathas.

Tips
1. After straining once, add little more water to the pulp and rub with hands and strain again. There’s a lot that’s behind after the ffirst straining just like in coconut milk etc.
2. Knead the flour with the extract only and avoid adding fresh water.
3. 1 cup water/juice/extract/liquid needs 2 cups of flour.
4. Merhi leaves can be replaced with Moringa leaves.
5. Sesame seeds are optional but adds taste n nutrition both.
