Modular laser visuals with the LZX Cyclops explained: Painting with sound!

A few people asked how to do the laser visuals from my last video. So here I explain how to control a laser projector with a eurorack modular synthesizer with the Cyclops module by LZX industries ( https://www.modulargrid.net/e/lzx-ind... ). It converts CV to the ILDA standard for laser projector control. While the Cyclops is discontinued, the upcoming Chromagnogn module ( https://lzxindustries.net/products/ch... ) features two ILDA interfaces and internal modulation for doing the things you see in this video. Instead of using a laser, many others use the XY-mode of analogue oscilloscopes to get a similar effect.

I still haven't found a good way for getting such XY-geometries into the computer for recording. So if you know how to obtain the same effect with a video signal, please let us know in the comments!
