As part of the 8th National Handloom Day celebration, the Department of Textiles Meghalaya inaugurated the Design Innovation Resource Centre to mark the occasion.
Set up at the first Eri Silk Village in Umden Diwon, the DIRC was implemented in collaboration with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to act as a one-stop centre for weavers, dyers, and researchers to innovate, record and share information on new techniques and weaving processes.
