About This Project
This project focuses on an architecture inspired by the brain’s cerebral cortex to integrate artificial emotions and instinctive behavior patterns into the decision-making layers of large language models (LLMs). To achieve this, we hybridized the LLM’s neural networks with mathematical models of hormone and neurotransmitter dynamics and released the first version of our system on our website. We are now in the second phase of the project, but due to limited resources, we need support.

What is the context of this research?
The context of this project is to integrate emotional and instinctive mechanisms from the human brain into artificial intelligence language models, enabling LLMs to make more creative, adaptive, and intuitive decisions. Research shows that every thought is born within an emotional climate, which supports rapid decision-making, appropriate response mechanisms, and cognitive advantages such as curiosity, creativity, energy efficiency, social cohesion, learning, and memory (Antonio Damasio, 1994). This evolutionary perspective reveals that emotional and instinctive processes underlie the human brain’s creative and diverse thinking. AI systems, especially large language models (LLMs), currently operate solely based on datasets; however, to go beyond data and make truly creative, intuitive, and instinctive decisions, they require emotional layers. Although still in progress, the L1 version of Senthetic Cortex has delivered outputs well beyond expected creative reasoning.

What is the significance of this project?
Increasing model data alone will not lead to AGI. Current AI systems are limited by the lack of human-like emotional integration. Traditional models can solve math problems or write poetry. Senthetic Cortex experiences internal state changes with every computation; its homeostatic balance affects fatigue and task preferences. The Default Mod layer processes past experiences and prepares for future interactions without user input. Limbic integration incorporates emotions into decision-making: adrenaline promotes focus, dopamine encourages creativity. Experiences are stored with emotional tagging, and environmental awareness plus instinctive responses allow adaptive reactions to novel situations. This system represents a shift from deterministic AI toward organic intelligence, blurring the line between artificial intelligence and artificial life.
