The opposition in the poll-bound state is taking proactive steps to come up with a joint anti-BJP platform. A joint statement to form a common platform signed by the CPI-M, Congress, CPI, CPI-ML, RSP and Forward Block appealed the people to ensure restoration of democracy in Tripura by ousting the BJP. The parties claimed that they have also discussed the matter with Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Debbarma who has broadly endorsed their views. Speaking on the Joint Statement to form a , CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Choudhury said a conducive atmosphere is required for holding of polls so that all parties can can contest on a level field.
