Three European nations which are set to recognise Palestine as a state on Tuesday have condemned Israel's ongoing attacks on Rafah.
The foreign ministers of Ireland, Norway and Spain, held a joint presser in Brussels where they spoke about the need for a two-state solution to the conflict. They also accused Israel of breaching international humanitarian law by refusing to stop its deadly strikes on Rafah.

Ireland's Foreign Minister said the recognition of a Palestinian state would lead to reaching a political solution.
Michael Martin also accused Israel of violating the International Criminal Court's ruling, ordering its military to stop its offensive in Rafah.

Spain's Foreign Minister also urged Israel to halt its attacks on Rafah, calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Norway's Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide urged other European countries to follow suit, in recognising a Palestinian state.

Mohammad Elmasry, media studies professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, says he is concerned by the language used by the foreign ministers of Ireland, Spain and Norway.
