Hot melt thermoset prepregs system is an advanced equipment for manufacturing carbon fiber/epoxy resin uni-directional tapes and woven fabric prepreg with 2 sets machine.

Prepreg machine introduction:

Hot melt prepreg is a two-step process that eliminates the solvent coating and drying used in the solution style prepreg.

The fiber tow is impregnated with a hot melt resin that is normally precoated on a paper or film carrier on a separate off-line process (machine called a “filmer”).

The hot melt prepreg manufacturing process uses a combination of heat and pressure to transfer the film resin from the filmer into the T700/T800 carbon fibre tow bundle.

The hot melt machine can produce UD Tape (unidirectional) and woven fabric prepreg .

The hot melt process typically uses pre coated release paper. For certain applications this prepreg system can save the customer from having to install two machines – filmer(prepreg resin coating machine) and prepreg machine.
