Sanath Jayasuriya had a strike rate of 92 back in the 90s, while most openers had a strike rate less than 75 back then.
Sanath Jayasuriiya was amazing for his time, he and Kaluwitharana revolutionized the way you play as an opener through the concept of Attacking from ball one.

It was the outstanding captaincy of Arjuna Ranatunga that brought these two to the top of the order. What might have seemed a strange decision back then is now considered one of the best decisions made by ranatunga, as Jayasuriya would later change the face of ODI Cricket.
