In the second part of my Panch Prayag series Nandprayag sangam. Nandprayag is about 75 kms from the first Prayag Vishnuprayag in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains.
And there are many historical stories and events related to it. Nandprayag is a small hill station in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, it is 200 kms from Rishikesh on Badrinath road. Alaknanda, the first river to come to Nandprayag, reaches here via Satopanth Glacier and Badrinath.

On the other hand, the other river Nandakini reaches Nandprayag after coming out of the glacier of Nanda Devi. There are many beliefs and stories behind the name of this Prayag which are associated with Naina Devi Temple, Lord Krishna's father Nanda Maharaj and Nandakini.
Nandprayag is about 60 kms from Joshimath. Historically, the importance of Nandprayag was also due to the Char Dham Yatra. This city used to be the halting and resting point for the pilgrims of Badrinath Dham. nandprayag was also a busy market and due to which people from all over the country settled here. The flood in 1803 destroyed the city, and then the city was resettled to a higher place.
Some benches and resting sheds have been made to sit on this beautiful Ghat of Nandprayag.
