2020 MERCEDES GLB CLASS SPIED TESTING AT THE NÜRBURGRING

During the Industry Pool at the Nürburgring I have filmed the 2020 Mercedes GLB class testing on track.

Mercedes-Benz is working on a huge expansion of its portfolio and the new 2020 Mercedes GLB is part of that. The new SUV can be seen better than ever in these latest spy pics.

Mercedes-Benz intends to have its compact model family consist of eight models. Until now we have met the already presented A-Class and A-Class Limousine, which will be joined soon by a new CLA and new B-Class. The same applies to the GLB SUV.

The 2020 Mercedes GLB is set to become the more SUV-like within Mercedes’ compact model range, a car that is clearly more angular and also higher riding than the upcoming new generation of the GLA.

In general, the 2020 Mercedes GLB is somewhat reminiscent of GLC’s predecessor, the GLK. The GLB is also a welcome addition to the Mercedes range. Brands like BMW and Mini have had for years models like the X1 and Countryman in the range and recently you can also go to Volvo for such an SUV, the XC40. In addition, Jaguar now has the E-Pace and Audi has the Q2. Time for counter-gas from Stuttgart.

The 2020 Mercedes GLB naturally lends its technical basis from the A-Class and that means that the engines will also be similar. Expect at least a GLB 180 and a GLB 200, most probably also a GLB 250 and an AMG variant. The 107 hp engine that Mercedes-Benz uses now for the A 160, will undoubtedly be passed by, due to its diminutive size. We expect the 2020 Mercedes GLB to be fully revealed at the latest in the first half of next year.
