Colonel of Marines (Ret) Giles Kyser: Col(Ret) Kyser was at arms length from the Commandant and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps when the decision was made for the Marines to join SOCOM. When the Commandant turned and said: “Giles, I need you to create a unit for us," he knew his life was about to change.

Master Gunnery Sergeant (Ret) Joe Settelen: Master Guns (Ret) Joe Settelen was a seasoned RECON Marine who worked tirelessly alongside Col(Ret) Kyser to navigate Plans, Policies, Operations, Training, Equipment and Employment of a Force that previously did not exist, and would almost certainly be deployed to combat!
