The fifth and final T20I of the series is here. New Zealand cannot lose the series but the West Indies still have a chance to draw level. The hosts will be aiming to seal it 3–1 while the visitors will look to make it 2–2. The final game will be played at the University Oval in Dunedin on Thursday (November 13).

All the matches have gone down to the wire so far. The last game in Nelson was washed out after only 6.3 overs were possible before rain arrived and halted the proceedings. Mark Chapman returned in the last game after recovering from illness and replaced Mitchell Hay in the XI for the hosts. Akeal Hosein after sub-par performances was dropped in the last game and Roston Chase who was rested for the third T20I made a comeback into the XI.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first in the last game. Under gloomy conditions the ball zipped around and the young opening pair of Alick Athanaze and Amir Jangoo struggled to get the big shots away. The Windies' innings came to a halt after 5 overs. The visitors were 30/0. The action resumed after a 40-minute break and Jimmy Neesham struck soon after the rain break to send back Athanaze for 21.

After 6.3 overs rain came back and the umpires had no option but to take the players off. Relentless rain in Nelson forced the officials to call off the game. With the series on the line can the West Indies pull off a win in Dunedin to level it or will New Zealand clinch the series 3–1 and take the silverware?

Shai Hope (West Indies Captain): Not necessarily an issue to bat first. But yeah we would have liked to bowl first. We just need to make sure that we grasp those crucial moments. That is where we have been behind so yeah that is the aim for this game. Jangoo is out for today and we have Jayden Seales is back

Mitchell Santner (New Zealand Captain): We are going to have a bowl first. It is also a really good ground for chasing. We want to start well and make use of the conditions. It's obviously a nice ground small ground. The win will play a key role. We want to start nice and early and hopefully we can pick early wickets. Same team for us.
