After building a dividing wall in a bedroom, the only cold air return was located in one of the bedrooms. I installed a cold air return between the 2 rooms so air could flow properly when the heating system kicked in. Since these 2 bedrooms were shared by 3 kids and a baby, soundproofing was important so the baby wouldn't be disturbed. Here's how I sound-proofed the cold air return without compromising the air flow.
