A fairly decent enough hours session spent at Brookwood station on the South Western Mainline where we see plenty of services from South Western Railway.

Brookwood has got a bit of a varied history, there wasn't a station here initially. Instead there were funeral trains running back and forth to Brookwood Cemetary which is located right next to the station. Kinda creepy to think really especially when the station is haunted. It wasn't until 1863 when the London and South Western Railway agreed to build a station which would serve the cemetery and the local village of Brookwood itself.

The station went through a redesign in 1903 which saw a new platform built on the down line which was 176 metres in length and was connected to the rest of the station via a subway instead of a footbridge which was removed. Since then the station hasn't really changed all that much albeit from the standard modernisation that most stations along the line have gone through.

My next station is Woking.
