Here's my first book DRIVE THE SUN, my 26th book A DREAM NEVER REACH, my mom's books MYRON'S MAGIC COW, THE OLD LION, a photo of my father with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Irish American civil rights leader Paul O'Dwyer, me with Reverand Jesse Jackson, Jr and big cousin Karl Manheim, and back here is a model of my reserved Aptera.
My mom loved writing, gifting me a love for the written word. I'm grateful for her gift and being inspired by my reserved Aptera and the positively charged EV Tech YouTube Channel DRIVE THE LIGHTNING and hosts Chad and Sarah to write my first book of prose DRIVE THE SUN, now with 26 self-published books on AMAZON.
My father worked with Dr. King and was in Memphis with the sanitation workers at the time of his death. I was nine years old when my father took me my sister Laura Jane on the freedom train from New York City's Penn Station to Union Station in Washington, D.C. to hear Dr. King deliver "I Have A Dream" declaration of light amidst a sea of humanity shining bright in the spirit of hope, mutual respect, and unity.
Aptera Co-CEO Steve Fambro's father, "Johnny," was a skilled pilot, earned his Airline Transport Pilot license and flew charter flights for Atlanta Air Taxi in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Among his many passengers was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whom he was honored to fly on several occasions.
Aptera, its vision of solar mobility is one of those rays of light giving me hope to let it's little light shine for us today and tomorrow to give children, all of us, a brighter future. I'll consider getting my Aptera as, THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE. Reading a bit of the song's history before singing it. I hope you enjoy listening and enjoy any of my 26 self-published books on AMAZON if you decide to get one or more.
The "original" version of "THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE" is a spiritual with roots in African American oral traditions, though it was formally written and published by Harry Dixon Loes around 1920 as a children's gospel song, with the core message of letting one's faith shine.
The song evolved from spirituals sung by enslaved people, recorded in the 1930s by folklorists John and Alan Lomax recording early oral versions from prisoners like Jim Boyd (1934) and Doris McMurray (1939), singers in Texas prisons, who learned it from their families.
It later became a powerful anthem for the Civil Rights Movement (1950s-60s) when adapted for protest, with verses about overcoming oppression ("Won't let nobody blow it), using verses like "Hide it under a bushel, no!" by activists like Zilphia Horton making it a unifying song for activists at the Highlander Folk School.

In my brother’s heart, I’m gonna let it shine,
In my brother’s heart, I’m gonna let it shine
In my brother’s heart, I’m gonna let it shine Let it shine,
let it shine, let it shine.
In my sister’s soul, I’m gonna let it shine,
