DGS Records return w/ Flip Jackson doing something special going back to his mixtape roots of Freestyles & Remixes to classic Hip Hop Instrumentals. Flip continues his vocal booth therapy sessions with "Keep It Real" (Freestyle) over the classic Miilkbone beat.
Flip starts the record off with jokes claiming he's "like Nomar Garciaparra up in this bitch" making fun of the fact he talks with his hands being Sicilian Italian on top of being a "rapper". Flip leads off with "RIP Virgil Abloh, you know what it is" as he jumps head first into his smooth bag of bars and slick talk sharing his experiences of 'Keeping it Real'.
Flip bares a lot of pain, short comings and losses taken along his journey trying to 'Keep It Real' stating "Seen a lot of hell and tho it's probably hard to tell, Had a $40 bail and couldn't bale myself from jail" recalling a time when he was arrested and couldn't afford to bail himself out at the time in lue of the bail so cheap.
Jackson also shows love to his passion for sneakers & fashion with lines like "Js on my feet, Jordan 3's to be exact, White Cement 3's or True Blues with the Black, Catch me on the court in Barkley's with the strap, known to take flight so I keep a Nike Air Bag"
Flip currently residing in Roxbury also makes an ode to Boston sneaker culture history with "Superstar status, I'm the one people stare at, Waving at my haters like the signal for a fair catch" and finished off the freestyle with an ode to the power of belief in self and the lessons he learned from the late great Virgil Abloh by leading by example with "Turning dreams into goals, from my soul to my soles, Off-White, No Pyrex word to Virgil Abloh".
Stating anything is possible as long as you belief and put in the action to execute on your vision and dream.
“Keep It Real” will be available on all DSP’s as well as featured in the track list on the upcoming Flip Jackson self produced “Tax Season” mixtape alongside a gang of superstar guest features through out the project.
