During my job experience, I was able to go out on a camp crew assignment, which is an assignment where we can earn extra money while doing our original trade and we went out to Oregon. While we were on this assignment, we learned to work together and we met different people. I was able to make some friends during this 14 day assignment. Even though we were all in the same center together, we all weren’t close, but I was able to get close with a few people that I do call my friends. Job Corps is a good program where you can do more than one trade and be able to get the skills done within one to two years depending on your pace. You get paid every two weeks even though it’s not a lot it’s something to save. They take you on trips, either Walmart or a grocery store or just a trip where you guys can go have fun on the weekends. If you guys want me to do another video on my job experience let me know in the comments and I will do a video. During this assignment, we had to do traffic control. We had a person do meal counts. We had someone do supplies, picked up trash, clean the handles of port-a-potties and hand out lunches out of the coolers in the morning. We had to wake up for breakfast and be out of the tent by 5 AM and then we didn’t get to go to sleep till 10 PM. We had to repeat that every day for 14 days. We woke up at 5 AM and had to go turn the generated lights on and had to make sure that whoever was on the rotation next for traffic control was out there. That way traffic wasn’t messed up and for traffic control we had groups of two that we would switch out of. We would do flagging that way people could see where to park and we could section off parts of the camp. We made a trail beside the road, so people won’t get hurt because they would walk in the road during traffic. I’m glad I got to share my Job Corps Camp crew experience with you all. I know that they’re trying to get rid of the program because they say it’s a failed program but it’s not because I got something out of it. I was able to do an advanced trade after my original trade and get a job in a place that I wanted and with the help of my instructors I was able to do it. Thanks for Watching!!
