Upon release the game was met with a very mixed reception from gamers and critics alike, It received a lot of popularity on the internet as well as a lot of criticism and hate. Garten of Banban is set in Banban's Kindergarten. The Kindergarten was closed due to recent cases of all children attending the Kindergarten going missing. In the game, the Player, who is presumably a mother who, after getting tired that nobody can find her missing child, decided, to go into the Kindergarten and find their child and other missing children themselves. But they slowly start to discover the horrifying secrets of the Kindergarten. The game gained popularity and became viral on YouTube. Youtubers started calling it "The Next Poppy Playtime" or "The Next Rainbow Friends", which were the previous popular and viral games on YouTube. But due to some people commenting on how the game's run time was only around 10-15 Minutes at least. People started saying that it was ruining the Mascot Horror Genre of video games, making it seem like this was the fixed bar of what a small indie developer team could make. Many started hating on the game since it could have been better if it was worked on by more people/for longer. Some were criticizing that the monster Banban which was in the name of the game, Garten of Banban, didn't appeared in the game itself and also calling out the Euphoric Brothers for putting a merch button in the Main Menu of the game (which they eventually removed).

The player navigates through a first-person perspective and must solve puzzles, some requiring a gadget named the GrabPack, to progress while avoiding various enemies. The first chapter was released on Steam for Microsoft Windows on October 12, 2021, and later for Android and iOS on March 11, 2022. The second chapter was released for Microsoft Windows on May 5, and for iOS and Android on August 15. All chapters after the first will be released as downloadable content. The game garnered positive reviews for its gameplay on its initial release, but the second chapter received mixed reviews for its numerous bugs.
