Mattye Q Pan Afrikan Peoples Arktet

"This track is from my latest LP, recorded live at the Schlot Jazz Club in Berlin, Germany, on May 20, 2023. 'Mattye Q (Mama Knows)' is a song I wrote as a tribute to my mother, who was my greatest supporter and the foundation of my musical journey. She introduced me to music at the age of six as my first vocal coach and later encouraged me to take clarinet lessons, which marked the beginning of my career as a woodwind specialist.

This piece reflects the deep spiritual connection I shared with her. She was always singing around the house, especially in the kitchen while preparing meals for our family. The track features incredible solos performed by the masterful Regis Molina and Joel Holmes, whose contributions bring this tribute to life."
