With his new track “My Name is Dick”, artist Adelsmann presents a refreshing and humorous perspective on the often misunderstood communication between men and women. Inspired by an unforgettable conversation with Rob, a Scot from Edinburgh, during a glass-bottom boat tour of Corfu in 2016, the idea for this unique song was born.

“We talked about ambiguous puns and I was fascinated by how Rob, as a native English speaker, perceives different terms,” explains Adelsmann. “It was surprising that he had never thought about the double meaning of words like ‘peacock’ and ‘peecock’. These humorous discoveries eventually led to the idea of ​​creating a song.”

Adelsmann emphasizes that “My Name is Dick” should in no way be understood as vulgar or meaningless. “I clearly distance myself from any trivialization of violence and sexism. My goal is to draw attention to the often misleading communication between the sexes and at the same time to promote respect and boundaries,” says Adelsmann.

With a catchy English chorus and thoughtful lyrics, the artist aims to make listeners laugh and make them think at the same time. “Humor is an important way to address sensitive topics. I believe that we can achieve a lot through laughter and a certain lightness,” he adds.

In the accompanying music video, Adelsmann portrays various characters, all of whom are nicknamed "DICK". “Even though I'm not the best singer, I did my best and hope the audience enjoys it,” he says with a wink.

To top it all off, “My Name is Dick” will be entered into the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Switzerland. Adelsmann is applying to this competition for the second time after 2023.
