A conversation between Dr. Stephan Blanford, Executive Director of Children’s Alliance, and Amy Liu of Microsoft Philanthropies. Together, they discuss the role of philanthropy in dismantling institutional racism and its potential to advance racial equity for future generations.

Dr. Stephan Blanford has dedicated much of his career to advocacy and policymaking for children and families. He has led youth development agencies and educational institutions serving kids from birth to college entrance in Washington state. He was honored with the Leadership for Equity award at the culmination of his term as an elected school board director for Seattle Public Schools in 2017.

Amy Liu is a mom of two amazing school-aged kids, and a recovering attorney with a wide range of work experiences, including working in an urban school district, the mortgage finance industry, law firms, a Presidential campaign, and a statewide education advocacy organization. She is currently a Director in Microsoft Philanthropies and is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan for both her undergraduate and law degrees.
