A dramatic twist has emerged in the reported bomb attack case from Chikalkhandi village under Chhatrapur police station in Ganjam district. Police have clarified that the explosion was not caused by a bomb, but due to a gas cylinder leak and regulator malfunction.

The blast occurred late Monday night at the house of G. Kamaraju, who initially alleged a bomb attack on his residence. Taking the complaint seriously, police registered a case and launched a detailed investigation.

Teams from CID Crime Branch, Fire Services, State Bomb Disposal Squad, and the State Forensic Science Laboratory inspected the spot and collected samples. After thorough examination, Chhatrapur SDPO informed the media that accumulated gas ignited due to flame and smoke, leading to the explosion.

Police have ruled out any bomb attack angle in the incident.
