XIKAR Perfect Xi1 | Review

If there was a cigar cutter hall of fame, XIKAR's Xi cutter would be a first-ballot, unanimous entry. Introduced in the 1990s, the Xi reimagined the popular double guillotine cutter, one with two opposing blades that come together for a straight cut. Since its introduction, the Xi has spawned different variations from XIKAR and copycats from some of its competitors.

The newest of those XIKAR variations debuted earlier this year: the XIKAR Perfect Xi1 ($72.95). The Perfect Xi1 is almost identical to the regular Xi, but add a backplate, which means you can only take around 1/8th of an inch off per cut. There are some people that love the simplicity of a cutter with a backplate, preventing you from taking off too much during a single cut.
