Visiting Dorothy Parker and Friends at the Algonquin Hotel (NYC)

Описание к видео Visiting Dorothy Parker and Friends at the Algonquin Hotel (NYC)

In 1919 a group of writers, critics, playwrights, and actors began to gather daily at the Algonquin Hotel on W 44th St in Manhattan. They were all up-and-coming literary celebrities who cemented their status through their participation at the Round Table and included Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley, Alexander Woollcott, Edna Ferber, Harold Ross, Jane Grant, Franklin P. Adams, and Harpo Marx (among others). We celebrate the writers of the Round Table by staying at the hotel, meeting with the general manager, getting a tour and history lesson from the President of the Dorothy Parker Society Kevin Fitzpatrick, and by meeting Hamlet, the famous Algonquin cat.
