https://klebermeireles.com/anterior-o... IN CLASS II CASES WITH MANDIBULAR DEFICIENCY, AVOID EXTRACTIONS IN THE LOWER ARCH. IF YOU REALLY NEED TO DO IT, THINK ABOUT EXTRACTING THE SECOND PREMOLARS.
If there is even a need for extraction of lower teeth in this context, consider extracting second premolars, increasing the possibility of mesialization of posterior teeth, which decreases the obligation to retract mandibular canines. After fulfilling the goal of lower teeth extraction, which is likely to have been crowding in the anterior region, the canines should remain in their positions without further retraction. If this occurs, the upper canines (along with the incisors) should have their retraction increased to correct class II.
