Pokémon: Black Version is a Japanese-style role-playing game that was developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. It was released in 2010 in Japan and in 2011 in other regions. Black Version, along with White Version, is one of the first installments of the fifth generation of Pokemon games. Sequels to Black and White were released in 2012 in the forms of Pokémon Black Version 2 and White Version 2.

In Pokemon Black Version, the player traverses the Unova Region in their coming-of-age adventure. Dispatched by Professor Juniper to complete the Pokédex, we search for all the Pokemon in the region. To do so, we must earn all eight gym badges, conquer the Pokemon League and stop Team Plasma's schemes.
