How to get a dream job in Dubai? Practical & mental techniques that I used

Getting a dream job takes both hard and soft skills. YouTube is full of best practices for creating a CV, applying for jobs, and getting a job in general.

I know that it is a little more to that! Being in the right mental state, and tuning yourself to the right frequency - will support you on your journey of getting to the right place to work at.

Here are tips that I used to get a dream job in fashion retail:
1. Self-evaluation. Take time to evaluate your set of skills and experience.
2. Research the job market. Best platforms in the UAE and the Middle East are LinkedIn, naukrigulf.com, gulftalent.com
3. CV. No more than 1 page, make sure to include key achievements such as "generated X amount of sales", "organized events for X people" and etc.
4. Networking. A magic tool! Connect, reach out and do not hesitate to use your friend and acquaintance circles.
5. Consistency. Keep going and keep applying every day.

Now that might get unmotivating, especially if you are in between jobs and don't have one. To be in a right mental state of mind will help you the following tips:

1. Define your fears. Close your eyes and imagine that you did get a dream job. What do you feel? Overwhelmed? Or you don't believe that it is possible? Those are your fears and negative believes that interfere your job search. Jot down those arguments and write a counter argument. Make your fears disappear.
