📖 Weekly Torah Portion II – 3rd Parshat Lech-Lecha (Genesis 13:5–18)

In the 3rd Aliyah of Parshat Lech-Lecha, both Avram and Lot grow wealthy in livestock, silver, and gold. Their herdsmen begin to quarrel because the land cannot support them together. Avram, seeking peace, tells Lot to choose any direction — if Lot goes left, Avram will go right, and vice versa.
Lot chooses the fertile Jordan Valley, near Sodom, even though the people there are wicked. After Lot departs, Elohim speaks to Avram, reaffirming His promise: all the land he sees will belong to him and his descendants forever. Elohim tells Avram that his descendants will be as numerous as the dust of the earth. Avram moves to Hebron and builds another altar to Elohim there.
