We have reached the end of 2003 in our complete Undertaker career retrospective. The Undertaker took on WWE chairman Vince McMahon at the 2003 Survivor Series and thanks to Kane, Big Evil was put to rest and The Undertaker was written off television. At the 2004 Royal Rumble though, we learned that The Undertaker was alive and well.

Although Mark Calaway didn't want to end the "American Badass" run of The Undertaker, the WWE higher-ups managed to talk Mark into coming back to the WWE as "The Deadman". Undertaker's previous gimmick that brought him to the dance, "The Phenom", was going to make his return at WrestleMania XX. 'Taker sent messages loud and clear to his little brother Kane in the run-up to Mania in 2004, and the career of The Undertaker was set to "All Begin... Again" in Madison Square Garden.
