What is the study of Development Economics?

The study of Development Economics investigates the management and facilitation of economic growth in countries and addresses current socio-economic issues such as poverty, inequality, health, education, and employment. The BA in Development Economics programme at RTC incorporates an international standard economics curriculum and emphasizes research methods to understand and help address the needs of the global economy in general, with particular emphasis on the Bhutanese economy.

This programme aims to equip students with the vital skills necessary for greater resilience in a highly vulnerable labour market. It challenges students adequately to harness their potential and offers opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing with peers through seminars, outreach activities, and participation in the current affairs of the nation.
