It should be obvious by now that Neil Young is one of my favorite artists. And he certainly is my favorite acoustic guitarist. It's not because he plays pretty, he doesn't. There is a certain slop involved with his style that translates absolutely perfectly to his style of folk music. In this video I demonstrate just that.

We've all heard of drop D tuning, right? Well, have you heard of double drop D tuning? In all the years that I have been playing guitar, I have never thought to take the high e string and drop that down to a D in addition to the low E string.

It's things like this that distinguish some artists from others. For some, it doesn't matter what tuning, what instrument, or how they go about it. If they want a certain sound, they go for it. This is where I think we should all be when creating music.

I hope you enjoy this video, if anything, I hope it inspires you to step out of your comfort zone and experiment with new things to achieve the end goal: making music.
