Inauguration of Sara Zimmerman Duterte as 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attends the inauguration of his daughter, Sara Zimmerman Duterte, as the 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines in a ceremony at the San Pedro Square in Davao City this Father’s Day, 19 June 2022.

The Chief Executive witnesses the administration of the oath of office to Vice President Duterte by Supreme Court Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando. The outgoing Davao City Mayor won by a majority vote in the May 2022 National and Local Elections.

Vice President Duterte shall also serve as the next Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary after accepting the invitation of President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr.

Apart from President Duterte, President-elect Marcos, Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the First Family, several Senators and Congressmen, members of the Diplomatic Corps, local government officials, other guests and the public form part of the estimated crowd of 20,000 in attendance at Vice President Sara Duterte’s inaugural ceremony.
