Palestinians in northern Gaza took to the coast to swim as Israel's bombardment of the strip continued.

Filming the scene, Palestinian journalists described it as an attempt to establish a sense of "normalcy" amid Israel's starvation, bombardment and ground invasion of the strip, which has hardly seen any aid enter in nearly three months of an Israeli blockade.

It comes as Israel's military has dramatically escalated their assault in Gaza, killing 52 people on Saturday in an attempt to force Palestinians to the south of the strip in a bid to conquer the enclave.
