In a world where justice often mingles with vengeance, forgiveness reveals its complex truths. Marginalized groups frequently face disproportionate expectations of forgiveness. Embracing uncertainty as a force for change is vital, especially in reforming justice for troubled youth. This talk explores the challenge of balancing retribution with rehabilitation, aiming for a more equitable legal system and societal healing beyond our privileged perspectives. Alkyoni Kotsis is an 11th-grade student at the American International School of Bucharest. She has a strong passion for law and the exploration of humanitarian issues and wishes to pursue a career in this field in the future. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
