Humans are rational creatures, yet they are also creatures with limited rationality and often swayed by irrationality. When we praise those sages who founded the United States, remember that it was the cream of the crop of humanity 250 years ago, but they were not gods. The Constitution of the United States was also, at that time, the best of human reason, but it was not scripture written by God. Therefore, it not only has bugs but also many flaws. The flaws in the U.S. Constitution could not stop any U.S. President who wanted to be king.
Currently, Trump supporters are seeking a third term for President Trump. On June 6, hundreds of people protested the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to search for and arrest undocumented immigrants in the "sanctuary state" of California. Trump called in 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles on June 7 without the governor's consent. And followed by the dispatch of Marines into California by way of a presidential executive order. Once again, we have to wonder if the U.S. Constitution can cage the power of the president. If Trump wants to be king, can America stop it?
The Gödel's Loophole
Kurt Friedrich Gödel (April 28, 1906 - January 14, 1978), was born on April 28, 1906, into a German-speaking family in Brünn (Brno, Czech Republic), Austria-Hungary (1867–1918). When the Austro-Hungarian Empire fell apart in 1918 after the defeat in World War I, Gödel automatically became a citizen of Czechoslovakia (1918–1939) at 12. In February 1929, he applied for Austrian citizenship, and when Germany annexed Austria in 1938, Gödel automatically became a German citizen at 32.

Law, Consensus and Power
If Trump wants to be king, or any future president who wants to be king, there is strictly speaking no constitutional impediment at all. The Constitution itself is a programmatic document, not to mention over two hundred and fifty years old, with more than one loophole.

In any country, the system of checks and balances on dictatorship must be completed with a first wall of law, including legislation, justice, and enforcement. The second wall is constructed through the culture rooted in the national community, in particular the consensus of the entire population. But the strongest third wall, the distribution of power and checks and balances, is the final line of defense, which is particularly critical.
Please follow me, subscribe to my channel, and in the next chapter, we'll continue to explore the importance of national "consensus" in preventing dictatorships.
