After graduating, they both attended Stanford University, where they worked various jobs to support their education. Orlo worked as a mucker in the Empire Mine, while Gerald worked as a hasher in a girl's dormitory. After completing their studies, they pursued successful careers, with Orlo working for the FAA and Gerald serving as the president of Sierra College. Despite their travels, they both felt a strong connection to their hometown and eventually returned to Grass Valley. They expressed their appreciation for the community's growth and development, highlighting the positive changes that have taken place over the years.
