The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 celebrates with a Profile of Illinois’ Bob Teitel, producer of BOB MARLEY:ONE LOVE

Bob Teitel grew up in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and Humboldt Park in Chicago.
He learned how to make films at Columbia College in Chicago, and with George Tillman Jr.
He shot several films in Chicago, including Soul Food and the Barber Shop films.

There are several Illinois related threads run BOB MARLEY:ONE LOVE:
Donald Kinsey played with Marley and was at 56 Hope Road when assassins tried to kill him.
Donald is one of Big Daddy Kinsey’s sons, and played on albums and live in many blues clubs
around Chicago and the world.

Bob Marley was an artist on Chris Blackwell’s Island Records label.
Chris Blackwell was an Englishman, but his father settled in Lake Forest, Illinois. Blackwell
became fascinated with Chess Records, and the label’s reputation as a home for great
musicians.

Curtis Mayfield is given co-writer credit on Bob Marley’s greatest song, One Love, and the title
track of the film. Chicago’s Impressions were an early influence on teenage Bob Marley. The
spiritual message of People Get Ready left an indelible impression on Marley’s songwriting.
