TRANSCRIPT:
Ray Sartorius (Farmer for Charlotte’s Web): When you understand and see the positive impact that this plant can have on people. It gives you a pretty special feeling.

Ray Sartorius: I got introduced to the Stanley brothers- I was working on a very large farm and the owner of the farm said, "You need to help these boys grow hemp." I didn't know much about hemp, but as I got to know the Stanleys, it became a pretty interesting project to me.

Jordan Stanley (Co-Founder, Charlotte’s Web): We needed Ray, and he comes along and he was looking for something new. He was looking for another challenge.

Ray Sartorius: In 2014, the Farm Bill allowed us to grow hemp outdoors. The last time that hemp was grown outdoors was back in the '40s, so there's a lot we've got to learn all over again. But you'll get a healthier, better plant outside. It's closer to nature.

Jordan Stanley: In fact our herbicides, we don’t use herbicides. It’s all, everything is done by hand. It’s pretty strenuous but it’s also rewarding. All these plants are the same because they’re clones from one genetic. So when you take a clipping off of a plant and it makes its own roots, it’s still identical to its mother plant, which keeps- keeps a consistency of quality. And that’s been what we’ve tried to thrive by so the consumer knows exactly what's in our product and can trust it.

Ray Sartorius: knew that this was going to be a cool thing to change the lives of so many people, but it is just, went way bigger way faster than I ever had any imagination of where it could be.

Jordan Stanley: To know that you're making a significant difference, that you're being a part of the change, it’s a fulfilling job.
