(…)However on the right wall, there are different scenes from the life of Saint Thomas.
The left painting represents the scenes from the life of Saint Thomas One who says to Saint Thomas: "you have written well about me Thomas, what reward do you want? ". And he would have answered: "Nothing other than the Lord".
Saint Thomas on a throne, is represented in the lower part, holding in his hand a book in which is written: "Sapientiam sapientum perdam", which means " I will destroy the wisdom of the wise ", sentence taken from the writings of Saint Paul. Before him there is a figure of a nasty person who represents the sin with a sign that reads: "Sapientia vincit malitiam", "Wisdom conquers evil". This is a clear allusion to the Dominican spirituality, always characterized by a search for the truth and a fight to vice and error. Saint Thomas is surrounded by four female figures that represent philosophy, theology, dialectic and grammar.
Nella parete destra invece ci sono varie scene della vita di san Tommaso.
Sulla lunetta, verso sinistra è raffigurato il miracolo del Crocifisso che parlando a san Tommaso gli dice: “hai scritto bene di me Tommaso, che ricompensa vuoi?”. E sembra lui abbia risposto: “Nient’altro che te Signore”.
Nella parte bassa invece è raffigurato san Tommaso in cattedra che tiene in mano un libro con la scritta: "Sapientiam sapientum perdam", che significa "Distruggerò la sapienza del sapiente", frase tratta dagli scritti di san Paolo. Davanti a lui una figura di persona dal brutto aspetto raffigurante il peccato con un cartiglio che dice "Sapientia vincit malitiam", "La sapienza vince la malizia” . E’ una chiara allusione alla spiritualità domenicana da sempre caratterizzata da una ricerca della Verità e una lotta al vizio e all’errore. San Tommaso si trova circondato da quattro figure femminili che rappresentano la filosofia, la teologia, la dialettica e la grammatica
